This is Michael Pollan's famous quote in his book "In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto" (Penguin). And it looks very much as if some people are sitting up and taking notice.
Earlier this year, Mark Bittman, food writer and columnist for the New York Times, also urged readers of his book "Food Matters: A Guide To Conscious Eating" to switch to a mainly plant-based diet, eating not only for their health but also to help heal the environment.

I liked your website, I searched in vain to find out how much cals are in Vietnamese foods and found your website which I find very helpful. Thanks for the info., I wonder how you worked out the calories in Viet foods. Anyway, I recently look research the calories factor and as female I stick to 1200-1400 calories regime. I also do moderate excercise, i.e run/jog for 3kms and walk uphill for another km, followed by very light weights of just 1km on each arm
I'm not sure if you can find out this information but do you have any idea how much cals is in say banh bo nuong or banh khoai mi nuong. I love them but fear they'll go straight to my waist!!

The calorie in a dish is calculated by adding the calories of all the key ingredients in a typical recipe of such dish. You can find the nutritional value of each individual ingredient in most Nutrition Web Site such as www.calorieking.com/. Keep up your exercise and looking good.

These are very helpful tips and pointers for having a healthy lifestyle. It seems to be a complete set of routine from early morning upon waking up down to the setting of the sun as we go sleeping which takes a lot of self – discipline. I think in this fast daily routine exercise is very important. Today's life is very stressful so if you can do exercise or Yoga everyday one hour you can control on your stress. Also control on your food. It's also necessary.
