The author has tried to make us familiar with the culture of Vietnamese people. I am from kerala, India and I am happy to note that there are other cultures in the world whose staple food is rice. We Keralites try to eat rice as much as possible for lunch and dinner and if possible in the morning also. Another similarity of note is the stress given to education. We Keralites, like you people, make it a point to send our children to schools even if we don’t have anything to eat.
